Hi, my name is Lisa Megumi Rogers, owner of Megumi Organics.
After experiencing a life-changing allergic reaction to chemicals commonly found in hair dye, such as paraphenylenediamine (PPD), propylene glycol, and formaldehyde, I decided to open a hair salon in Hawaii. As a hair stylist for many years, I was exposed to these toxic ingredients daily, which eventually triggered my allergic reaction. This experience led me to learn more about the dangers of chemical processing and the toxins present in cosmetics. Realizing the need for a safer approach, I knew something had to change.
I began researching safer alternatives but was disappointed to discover that the many so-called “organic” and “natural” products were anything but organic and natural. It was then that I found henna, an ancient coloring method with a long, rich, and most importantly, safe history.
After 12 years of beautifying clients hair I closed the salon and decided to share my experience and offer the plants that I used in the salon.
I continue to expand my knowledge of plant-based hair care and to educate you on the dangers of the chemicals we are all exposed to in daily life.
